Course Structure

In this course, thirteen tunes have been specifically chosen to help improve and master different techniques on the harp. Trebles, finger placement, dampening of the strings and nimble lever changes are all examined and demonstrated. A wide array of tune types are presented, including Jigs, Reels, Slipjig, Barndance, Slow Air, Hornpipe, Planxty and a Waltz. Each lesson consists of the tune’s melody taught slowly, phrase by phrase, followed by the chordal accompaniment. The final part of the lesson is called ‘Whole Tune Practice’ where the tune is played in its entirety at a slow and steady pace. Downloadable sheet music and mp3’s are included, as are our wonderful and unique play along backing tracks features, which have proven to be really popular with our students.
